I am having hairloss due to abnormalities of thyroid…..help, what can I do?

I have been on meds. for 6 months and my thryoid levels started out as hyperthyroid, and would drop to hypothyroid. My doctor is still trying to get my levels regulated through meds. and I was told that it could take up to a year before we find a route that is effective. In the meantime, I am developing baldness of my scalp and eyebrows, and I am a woman. Has anyone else been through this? It is really affecting my self-esteem because it is becoming very noticeable. Help?!?
