How do I get hair loss checked without insurance?

Is there a way I can get some hair loss checked without health coverage? By doing some research, it looks like I'd have to consult with a dermatologist. I basically want to see whether it's hereditary or some other health condition, and what my options are to treat it.

I know I'd probably have to end up paying out of pocket, but what would be the ideal way of seeking help?
