Considering Hair Transplants

Since Elton John decided some years ago to do something about his hair loss, hair transplants have become more popular, especially in the U.S. But despite their popularity, there still seems to be some intrigue surrounding them. To start at the beginning, a hair transplant basically involves moving some hair from what is called the permanent hair location, to the area of the head that is receding ,thinning or balding. This permanent hair source is generally located around the back and sides of the head.

In addition, some surgeons prefer for other avenues to have been explored first before a hair transplant is considered, in particular for people with mild or moderate hair loss.

Saying that though, if you are considered to be a suitable candidate and you do decide to proceed with the surgery, the initial consultation costs are usually reimbursed. Both the cost of the consultation as well as the reimbursement does depend though on which company you choose to carry out your hair transplant.  

Whatever company you decide to consult, be sure that they are qualified to carry out hair transplants and have experience of carrying out this type of surgery.  

If you are considering undergoing a hair transplant as a hair loss treatment then you need to keep in mind that it is a form of surgery and therefore there is a risk attached to the process. In addition, results of the surgery cannot be predicted to a high degree since all people are individuals and can react differently to the treatment. Therefore as part of the overall hair transplant cost, you also need to consider the cost of any additional touch-up surgery that you may require to achieve the look that you are after.
